Messages from beyond

Listening to people who have died and even talking to them may not be a possibility for science, but Maria Rosario Rowan believes in it and ensures that this type of communication can help overcome death in a family and turn around the lives of loved ones

Since 1934, when the botanist Joseph Banks Rhine, who introduced the term parapsychology, published the text ESP , there have been many studies that have tried to give scientific support to the subject of paranormal phenomena, without reporting success or much less communication with what is called "the beyond". But there are those who, without being scholars in the field, say they have received a response on these issues empirically, almost without looking.

One such case is that of the Venezuelan Maria Rosario Rowan, author of Whispers of a Heart from the Other Side. After being a successful businesswoman and even presidents of companies of various kinds, the writer changed her life completely to engage in the psycho-spiritual world. "We are all spiritual beings and, therefore, we have the ability to perceive events and spirits; some people are born with the skill, while others need to learn and develop it," says Rowan. From early on in life, she found the capability to talk to those who had died.

"I feel, hear and watch. Sometimes I see and hear because the spirits talk to me and, sometimes, they make me connect with the mind that once felt or is feeling," she adds.

The life history of Rowan changed with the loss of her nephew Alejandro, 11, and then her niece Betsabe, a young woman of 32 years, who recently died of an aneurysm. "When my nephew Alejandro died, my sister was with her two daughters, one of them being Betsa, and her husband. From that point on my sister was alienated, dressed in black,  and severely depressed.

“Then, as my niece Betsa grew up, her adulthood gave her strength to support her mother and mitigate her sadness with understanding. Betsa was a super cheerful person, very communicative, and highly encouraging ... then unexpectedly last year, she left us abruptly with a brain collapse.

“I feel like Betsa knew her parents would suffer, because she had lived that suffering firsthand when her brother died. Betsa was motivated to communicate with her family from the afterlife to tell them she was okay, she was happy and that there was another life.

“And so there began to reach me images of hearts from Betsa, messages of love, reconciliation and forgiveness, which were directed not only the family but to all human beings,” says the author, who collected all the messages in the book.

 How the book came about
“Betsa began to communicate almost every day with me. She was accompanied by a heavenly being, and thus, with their messages, this book came out. For several days I could hardly do otherwise, I just wrote what I heard and saw.

“At first, she said, 'Auntie, collect all the information I am telling you. Copy it and give it to the family.’ So I did that, recording the messages of love by Betsa. When I finished the text, I thought of printing it, but for some reason there was no way for my home machines to work. And then Betsa asked, 'Who told you that you’re finished? We have more to say and now it must be for an intimate message to reach everyone.’ So I added the rest of the chapters to complete Whispers of a Heart from the Other Side.

Have these experiences changed her view of death?
"Death for me is a transitional step between what we do on earth, which is like a school, and the other side. I think we came here for a purpose; we have to listen and learn from all the sages who have been on Earth such as Jesus, Buddha and Krishna, among others… because all of them have asked us to love one another, to forgive and to open the heart and to support one another.

“And what do we humans do? We engage in wars, fights, assaults, teasing, bullying. But when this stage of the school ends, you must see if you learned the lesson. If you have not done so, then you are destined to repeat it. Finally we come and go as often as necessary to find our place in spiritual development ".

During these spiritual contacts that produced the book, what were the messages?
"Basically, the world must return to the simple, forget the material and so many of the things that have been invented to harm others.

“We cannot be without an electronic device in your hands, for example. It cannot be happy if we do not travel three months a year or have the latest model car. Why not experience nature, care for trees, water, animals? Venezuela is a place that needs lots of love. But what people are doing is shouting insults from both sides. Let's ignore the negative and focus on life.

“The messages coming from the afterlife ask us to speak of the positive side, of love, and if we do so the future would begin to flow differently. "

Keys in the key of love and forgiveness
The book Whispers of a Heart from the Other Side , according to what Maria Rosario Rowan says, has changed the lives of many people seeking to overcome the death of a relative or to feel in touch with people who are gone. "Usually, people that are trying to communicate with family with no success, simply are not aware of who stays on Earth and why. I need to open hearts that are willing to hear and be with the departed.

“Contact is sometimes inexplicable. It is an odor, for example. Others are visual like a small symbol, a heart, a star, a flower ... Still in others it is a message through the voice of a person, and in other cases, through a book.

“The reality is that human beings impacted by resignation to pain and loss, can become distant from the reality around them and ignore details about the departed. I have received testimonies from people who have felt or seen very real situations they thought they were part of their imaginations.

“By identifying with what is written in the book readers can realize communication. One wrote: 'After someone died in my life, I did see hearts at home, although I thought at the time it was my imagination.’ “

Is it necessary stay in touch with someone who has died to overcome death?
"It is not necessary to have a contact with the beyond to overcome a death of someone we love, but my book explains the process that people go through after a passing, which comforts the family. Also in the text there are some meditations that teach, step by step, how to connect with the loved one who is no longer visible. The book can help you understand the process of starting a loved one.”

The author added that people seek answers in the spiritual world when they live through traumatic experiences. "By leaving a loved one, we turn the page and try to understand what happened to us as human beings, and wonder what to do with the rest of our lives. Until you experience this for yourself, people remain skeptical. "

What does forgiveness and love in the messages that are in the book? "Forgiveness is linked to love. Love is the most important and we must fill our day around it so the human environment will change. But to love, the spirit should be cleaned. For this, people should absolve themselves, then you must forgive others for things they have done or left undone, and this should help you to love everyone equally. If each change by itself slightly modifies the behavior at home, the sum will change the country and the world. The key is love and forgiveness. "

What do you say to people who remain skeptical about this phenomenon?
"I had a very pleasant experience. I called someone who is a complete atheist who had picked up my book and he said, 'I read your book. The first time I put it out of sight and thought you were crazy. But as I have it on the bedside table, every so often I open and browse it. Not that I believe, but I feel that the sentences are coming and they are saying something else to me now. '"
